Beat the Heat: Private, Dog-Friendly Pool Rentals

Did you know you can rent private pools specifically for your dog to swim and splash? Services like Swimply offer homeowners the chance to rent out their pools, and many are dog-friendly! This is a fantastic way for your water-loving pup to cool off, get some serious exercise, and enjoy a private, safe swim without the crowds of a public dog park or river.

Why it’s great: Perfect for pups who love to swim, those needing a low-impact workout, or just for special fun!

Shop & Stroll: Pet-Friendly Downtown Shops

Leesburg offers more than just outdoor dining for a leisurely stroll with your pup. Many local businesses and markets welcome well-behaved, leashed dogs!

Keep an eye out for “paw-friendly” signs or water bowls outside the shops like District Hemp Botanicals, Kinch Knitting and Sewing Studio, and the Resourceful Woman Thrift Store. It’s a fun way to window shop or pick up a unique find with your best friend by your side!

Community Fun: Pet-Friendly Events & Festivals 

Loudoun County is always hosting various events throughout the summer! Beyond specific dog parks or restaurant patios, keep an eye out for larger community gatherings that welcome pets!

Pup Stroll Wednesdays at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens (Vienna)

If you are willing to take a scenic drive outside of Leesburg, consider this beautiful scenic garden! Leashed dogs are welcome specifically on Wednesdays during daytime hours. It’s a fantastic, tranquil experience for you and your pup! (Always check their website for current policies and hours before visiting).

Local Farmers Markets

Many farmers markets, like the Leesburg Farmers Market, are pet-friendly and create a vibrant, social atmosphere for you and your leashed companion to explore local goods and enjoy the community buzz.

Support local by attending the Leesburg Farmers Market every Saturday at the Virginia Village Shopping Center where well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome! It’s a sensory experience for your pet with all the fresh produce scents, and you can maybe even stock up on some treats (for both of you!)

“Pups on the Patio” at Fire Works Pizza - Leesburg

We are proud to be collaborating with Fire Works Pizza in Leesburg on their  “Pups on the Patio” contest because we absolutely love seeing dogs included in their owner’s dining experiences! This great spot embraces furry family members with a special “Fido Menu” for the pups!
