Meet the Founder
My name is Alexa Young
Kaitlyn
Hi, I’m Kaitlyn. I started Pawsitivity Pet Services because I’m, admittedly, a bit of a crazy dog mom. I got my first and only dog, Teddy, for my 12th birthday. From that moment, I knew I wanted to spend my life working with animals. When I couldn’t bring myself to leave Teddy with a sitter, I realized how important it is to pet parents find trustworthy, reliable care. That inspired me to build a company where pets feel safe and loved, and where owners can enjoy true peace of mind when they can’t be there.

Leading Pawsitivity allows me to make sure every pet receives exceptional, compassionate care. I believe in always learning and growing. I’m a graduate of Binghamton University, the Canine Training and Behavior Specialist program at the Animal Behavior Institute, and I’ve completed coursework in canine nutrition. I’m certified in Pet First Aid and CPR, and I completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program to strengthen my leadership and business foundations. In 2025, I was honored to be inducted into Loudoun’s 40 Under 40 class for my commitment to entrepreneurship and community impact.

Since launching Pawsitivity, I’ve cared for a variety of animals including dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, chickens, ducks, and fish. I now live in Leesburg with my fiancé, our dog Teddy, our cat Max, and our pet fish.
What began as a one-woman operation has grown into a thriving company employing more than 20 Loudoun residents and serving over 500 families. Building Pawsitivity Pet Services has been my life's work. I’m grateful every day for the trust our clients place in us to care for their beloved pets.
