Celebrating Seven Years of Pawsitivity

This February marks Pawsitivity Pet Services seven-year anniversary, and I can’t help but reflect on a story our founder and CEO, Kaitlyn, shared from the early days of starting her business. Back when she was out in the field for every visit, she was walking a dog when a local police officer stopped to chat. When Kaitlyn modestly described herself as “just the dog walker”, the officer stopped her. He told her, “No! You are the highlight of this dog’s whole day while their owners are away!”

That simple shift in perspective encompasses the heartbeat of this company. It serves as a reminder of the vital role our Pet Care Specialists play in the lives of the pets we serve and the peace of mind we provide to their families.

A Growing Team, a Shared Vision

What started as a solo mission by Kaitlyn has grown into a dedicated team of over 20 professionals. Today, Kaitlyn has built a professional structure designed to set the highest pet care standard of reliability and quality for our Leesburg and Lansdowne neighbors:

• Expert Leadership: As CEO, Kaitlyn continues to lead with a focus on compassion and excellence, backed by her recent induction into Loudoun’s 40 under 40 class of 2025.

• Operational Excellence: Our Operations Coordinators and Team Leads ensure every visit is on time, every journal is complete, and every client request is handled promptly.

• A Culture of Mentorship: Our Team Trainers lead ride-along training programs, ensuring our Pet Care Specialists are experts in animal behavior, safety protocols, and our specific standard of care.

• Pet Care Specialists: The heart of our business! Each Pet Care Specialist is a dedicated professional who has passed a rigorous background check and completed comprehensive in-person and online training, including full certification in Pet First Aid and CPR.

This professional structure has allowed us to grow alongside the community we love! We are proud of the milestones we’ve reached over the past seven years:

• 500+ Families Served: We have had the privilege of caring for over 500 neighbors across Leesburg and Lansdowne.

• Unmatched Reliability: Our team often completes over 1,000 visits in a single month, delivering consistent and dependable service.

• Service Innovation: We have expanded with a company vehicle for Adventure Walks and Pet Taxi Services, ensuring we can go the extra mile for our clients.

• Best of Loudoun: Thanks to your trust, we have been named “Best of Loudoun” four times consecutively (2022-2025).

Rooted in Community

While the team and services have expanded, the core values remain the same. Pawsitivity is still deeply rooted in the neighborhoods we serve.

With the help of our generous clients, we have launched an Adventure Walks for Shelter Dogs Program. Our Pet Care Specialists provide 90-minute, enrichment-packed outings for shelter dogs while they await adoption from Loudoun County Animal Services, giving them a much-needed adventure.
