As the weather warms up here in Leesburg and Lansdowne, many of us are eager to spend more time outside, and our dogs are too! While our standard visits are a fantastic way to maintain your pet’s routine and provide reliable midday care, some pups just crave a little extra!
Whether you have a high energy dog who needs more physical exercise to burn off steam, or a curious explorer who loves to take their time sniffing every new scent, an Adventure Walk provides the perfect outlet. At Pawsitivity Pet Services, your pet’s happiness and safety are our top priority, and we’re here to help make your life easier by bringing them on an adventure!
What is an Adventure Walk?
Our Adventure Walks are designed to give dogs the time and space to truly engage with nature. These are dedicated 90-minute round-trip excursions. Our trained, local team will safely pick your pet up from home, take them for a hike, and drop them back off happily tired.
Instead of your usual neighborhood, we head to the best local spots right here in our community, including Morven Park, Ida Lee, Ball’s Bluff and Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve to name a few. These outings are completely customized and tailored to your dog's needs. We will choose the location based on your pet’s personality. Additionally, we will go the extra mile to ensure high energy dogs get the brisk, continuous exercise they need, while also allowing plenty of time for deep sniffing and “decompression” for those who prefer to explore at their own pace.
As always, these excursions come with the exact same high quality care you already expect from us. The entire trip is GPS-tracked for your piece of mind. Upon returning home, we will refresh their water bowl, give them a well earned treat (if allowed!), and send you a detailed journal. This journal includes your GPS route, a lock-up photo confirming your home is secure, and plenty of pictures of your dog having the time of their life!
The “Sponsor a Walk” Program: Supporting our Local Shelter Dogs
As a business deeply rooted in the neighborhoods we serve, we believe every dog deserves the chance to explore, especially those waiting for their forever homes. This is why we are so proud to partner with Loudoun County Animal Services (LCAS) through our “Sponsor a Walk” program.
Life in a kennel can be stressful. The ASPCA notes that regular exercise and mental enrichment provide a constructive outlet for pent-up energy, leading to a calmer, more relaxed animal. Our program is designed to bring that exact relief to dogs waiting for adoption.
How the Program Works:
Community Funded: You do not have to be a current client to help! Anyone can sponsor a shelter dog’s walk directly through our website. For our current clients, you also have the convenient option to add a donation starting at $5 every time you book a service for your own pet.
The Adventure: Once enough sponsorships are gathered to fund a walk, one of our pet care specialists picks up a shelter dog from LCAS for their own 90-minute adventure at a local park or trail.
The Journal: After the outing, the sitter writes a detailed journal entry about the dog’s experience; their leash manners, how they handled the trails, and their unique personality.
The best part? The journal is sent directly to every person who contributed to that specific walk. This allows you to see exactly which dog you helped and the direct impact your generosity had on that animal’s well being and future adoptability.
