Cancellation Policies; What are Pawsitivity Pet Services Cancellation Policies and Why do They Exist?

By Kaitlyn Argiro

I want to take the time to reiterate our cancellation policies as travel season is ramping up quickly! I know, we all hate rules and fees, but they exist for a reason. Below are our cancellation policies.

Why Do We Have Fees?

Cancellation fees cover the time it takes to schedule each visit.

What goes into scheduling?

  • We first have to look at your primary sitter’s availability.

  • If they are not available, we then look at your secondary sitter’s availability.

  • We try to work off your primary sitter’s availability and fill the gaps with another sitter.

Why do we require a week’s notice for cancellations for pet sits?

Pet sitting is the most difficult service for us to schedule.

  • Company policy mandates us to assign a primary and secondary sitter to each pet sit. This is to ensure the least amount of stress for your pet and to make sure we are familiar enough with your family member to catch any medical issues that pop up while in our care. In rare occasions, a third sitter may tend to your pet (e.g. emergencies with the primary/secondary sitters).

  • Our team often schedules their time off around our clients and last minute changes can affect the entire booking. Our team is reliant on the income they would have received from each pet sit so we pay our sitter fully for blocking off the time in their schedule to accommodate your pet.

  • Any time that our clients are charged fully for their cancelation, your sitter is paid their full rate for the visit.

  • When a client schedules, we reserve the time they book and oftentimes have to turn down other clients. With last minute cancellations, we lose the opportunity to fill the spot.

  • We plan our days around each visit. Last minute schedule changes really affect our routes or personal time.
